Anna Sacks, Social Media Manager (she/her)

Anna Sacks is a waste expert, former legislative chair for the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board, and co-founder of New York City’s #SaveOurCompost coalition, which has successfully advocated for increased access to and funding for composting.

As "The Trash Walker," as she's known online to an audience of over half a million, she documents usable items that she finds in corporate, residential, and institutional waste to raise consciousness and advocate for systemic change. Anna’s TikTok videos exposing corporate waste have forced major corporations--including Coach and Starbucks--to improve their unsustainable policies. She's appeared in Netflix's Emmy-award-winning documentary Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy, been named a 36 Under 36 changemaker by The Jewish Week and a Climate Creator to Watch by Pique Action & Harvard Chan C-CHANGE, and is a 2026 David Prize Finalist.
