The production, use and disposal of plastics all pollute our soil, water, air, and bodies while creating greenhouse gas emissions which contribute to climate change. The harms predominantly burden minority and low-income people whose communities host a disproportionate number of petrochemical and waste disposal facilities. Beyond Plastics works to achieve our mission to end plastic pollution everywhere by:

• Educating the media, policymakers and the public on the negative impacts of plastic pollution on human health and the planet. 

• Empowering businesses to find alternatives to single-use plastics.

• Organizing to mobilize grassroots volunteers in their states and local communities.

• Training advocates to become leaders in the anti-plastics movement.

• Stopping new plastic manufacturing and chemical recycling facilities with local partners on the ground.
