After years of advocating in opposition to the proposed SOBE Energy Solutions plant, the community of Youngstown, Ohio recently succeeded in convincing the City Council to pass a 12-month moratorium on pyrolysis of tires, tire derived chips, plastic, and electronic waste.

Beyond Plastics volunteer, Suzette Munley helped her town, Upper Moreland, PA pass a single-use plastic and polystyrene ban that makes plastic straws available upon request only, and adds a 10-cent mandatory fee for paper bags!

Zero Waste Ithaca is working hard to prevent Ithaca College from installing dangerous, polluting artificial turf including circulating a student-led petition, holding a rapid response rally, and hosting a call relay.

✌️Beyond Plastics New Paltz scored a major victory for the environment and music-lovers by working hard to convince Bethel Woods to change its policy to allow patrons to bring and use refillable water bottles.
